Meal Services Information

This year, with students both in schools and out, meal services will look a little different. Durango School District 9-R Student Nutrition program is working hard to create a healthier school nutrition environment for your children. We promote healthy eating by offering organic grass finished beef, organic apple products, whole grain foods, a variety of vegetables each week, salad bar, beans, no fried foods, fresh fruit selections everyday and of course, local sustainable foods whenever possible.

Dear Parents,

Things are shaping up here at Florida Mesa and we are looking forward to seeing everyone very shortly. Our teachers are back in their classrooms, preparing their spaces for students based on guidance outlined in the district and our school’s Return to Learn Plan. They have also received training on using itsLearning and are beginning to build lessons within the new platform. As with so much of our new reality, there will be bumps along the way as we all learn this system together, but we are excited at the possibilities that it provides ALL of our learners.

Kids' Camp Job Openings!

Durango School District 9-R’s after school enrichment program is hiring Program Site Coordinators, Aides, and Substitutes (pick your own schedule!) for the 2020/21 school year.

We are an enrichment program providing educational activities and fun for elementary school students after school. Positions begin ASAP and runs through June 3, 2021.

9-R Transportation Guidelines 2020/21

Durango School District 9-R Transportation Department will be making changes to routes in the 2020-2021 school year.

To ensure social distancing and in accordance with Colorado Department of Education and Federal guidelines concerning COVID-19 the Transportation Department will operate all buses at fifty percent (50%) capacity. This will mean a seventy-eight passenger bus will now transport 39 students at a time.

Dear Florida Mesa Parents,

We appreciate those of you who have completed the Return to Learn survey. As each choice has come in, we have been reviewing and redesigning our Return to Learn plan to meet the needs of the Florida Mesa community. This has delayed the release of the plan as we have had to adjust its design a number of times. We apologize for that and are currently working with Superintendent Snowberger to have our plan approved for release as soon as possible.
