9-R Public Budget Hearing

The 9-R Public Budget Hearing for the 2021/22 academic year budget will be on May 13, 2021 starting at 5:30 pm via Zoom. Come to learn more about how funds are allocated to schools to determine staffing, resources and services based on school enrollment, as well as other priorities in spending. Community Meet & Greet - Incoming Superintendent Dr. Karen Cheser

Incoming Superintendent, Dr. Karen Cheser, is hosting a community meet and greet on Wednesday, May 12 at 5:30 pm via Zoom. This is a great opportunity to hear from Dr. Cheser on her vision and initial plans when she begins in July, as well as ask her any questions you may have.

Cohort to Quarantine - 4.18.21

On April 18, 2021, 9-R was notified by San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) that an individual at Florida Mesa Elementary tested positive for COVID-19, causing a cohort to quarantine. The school and the district are working proactively with the SJBPH to make the appropriate notifications and next steps for those who may have been in close contact with this individual.

Consumer Notice of Lead Tap Water Results

Dear Students, Parents and Staff of Florida Mesa Elementary School:
Durango School district 9-R would like to share the lead results sampled in March 2021 and ensure you that the drinking water provided meets state and federal standards. Ten sites are required to be tested at the school by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment every six months. All the results were well below the action level of 15 ppb.
