Monday, September 27 is a Teacher Professional Development Day, and schools are closed. The school district is not offering enrichment programs. However, we are compiling a list of community partners who have programs, and will post those options soon.

We would like to launch new FIRST LEGO League Robotics teams in Durango 9-R at all grade levels. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to be engaged in fun, engaging, activities that grow their interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). In order to do this, we need parent volunteers who can help coach teams. No engineering or programming experience is needed ...

The Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting on Monday September 20th at 5:30pm. The meeting will be held to interview potential board members for District D and to potentially appoint a new board member to this seat.

Volunteer your time by serving on the School Board!

The Durango School District 9-R Board of Education is now accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment until a qualified successor is elected at the regular biennial school election in November 2023.

Are you interested in joining our team? We have full and part time positions available for certified nursing assistants, paraprofessionals, custodians, bus drivers, and cooks. We have day and evening positions and offer a Monday – Friday workweek!

We offer full time positions with benefits as well as flexible positions. Note, individuals do not have to have a college degree in order to serve in this role – candidates can hold a 1-year Colorado Substitute License with documentation of completion of one year of post-secondary education.

Dear Families,
Thank you for entrusting us with your students this school year and for your support and patience. It has been a wonderful start to the year even with the COVID precautions we have had to implement.

This year, we anticipate fewer quarantines, due to the population-based approach and masking. Students who are absent will follow the attendance policy, making up work when they return unless the teacher plans otherwise. (This applies even if the student is in isolation or a quarantined determined by San Juan Basin Public Health) . We will not conduct live teaching or Zooming into classrooms during absences as was done during quarantines in the 20-21 school year.
