Florida Mesa Science Club

Through a Core Grant from the Durango Education Foundation the volunteer science instructors, Kelley Bard and Kristen Toppin, are able to purchase supplies for the experiments. This has allowed the team to introduce more advanced topics like microbiology using microscopes and solar power with solar cars.

Recently, the 1st-3rd grade students in the club were exploring "Kitchen Sink Science" and learning about how yeast helps bread rise, how liquid cream can change to a solid as they made butter, and they even made cheese! It made for a super fun learning experience, and a tasty snack!
