Dear Florida Mesa Families,

Together, we pivoted to remote learning last week, and appreciate all that you are doing to support your students in learning from home.  We can’t wait for the day that we are able to again have in-person learning for all of our students!

We recognize that remote learning is not easy, for many reasons.  Despite the challenges, we want 100% of our students engaged in their learning.  We are open to helping you problem solve barriers that are keeping your student from full engagement and completing their work.  We don’t want any of our students to fall farther behind, and are committed to helping all students succeed for however long we must remain in the remote learning model. If your child has not completed all of their work thus far, next week would be a great time to catch up!  Please reach out to your child’s teacher, our counselors, Mrs. Morris or Mr. Roderick if your child is struggling or there are barriers for your family.

We are pleased that so many of you (125+-) have been able to take advantage of the meal service that our amazing kitchen staff is providing.  If you are interested, please sign up HERE.  You will have the option to choose pick up at Florida Mesa between 11am-1:00pm on school days or on the bus route.   To see a schedule of bus routes with times click here:   http://www.durangoschools.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=512054&type=d&pREC_ID=1033583   If you sign up for a bus route, you may pick up from any bus stop on the route. Please place your order for meals by 5pm on Fridays each week for meals for the upcoming week.  Meals may be called in, (970) 247-4250, ext 3369, by 9:00am each morning if you do not have access to the online order form.

We want to invite everyone to join us for our upcoming  SAC/PTO meeting on Wednesday, December 2nd at 8am.  We are adding PTO to the end of our SAC meetings in order to be more efficient.  If you aren’t able to attend the full meeting, feel free to hop on about 8:30am to catch the PTO meeting.  We are seeking more volunteers to help with PTO. Click on the agenda above, which includes the Zoom link. We hope to see you there!!

We wanted to remind everyone that there is no school for the Thanksgiving break, November 23rd-27th and Monday, November 30th. There will be no meal service available on those days.  Happy Thanksgiving and we will reconnect in December!!

Sincerely,

Shannon Morris, Principal

Tony Roderick, Assistant Principal
