Dear Parents and Students,

Every Monday, we will be sending an IC Blast from Florida Mesa to communicate important school information and reminders.  On Wednesdays, you will receive communication from Durango School District, which will be related to district level topics and information.  Please take a few minutes on each of these days to read through the information so that you are up-to-date!

Please remember to attend to the following tasks each week.  Doing so will provide information so that our teachers and staff know the best ways to support your student(s).  We want to make sure that students continue to access their learning in a way that works for each family, that meals are reserved and accessible, and that we have regular contact with our students.  Thanks for your help with these efforts!

Interested in a Chromebook for your student to use at home?  Please complete this Chromebook interest survey to let us know.  We will be working on a safe way to distribute them and will be in contact with the details.

We will continue to include important community information and resources in our weekly communication. If you are experiencing an emergency, you may be eligible for Emergency Health First Colorado. The insurance only covers emergencies and cannot be used for routine care. All hospitals are required to give care to anyone experiencing a serious medical emergency, no matter their legal or insurance status. While hospital bills can be extremely expensive, there are options for people without documentation or legal status to access emergency Medicaid insurance.  Please see the attached flyer for more information on how to ask for this resource if you find yourself with a medical emergency!

Again, thank you to you and your students for your willingness to engage in Florida Mesa’s distance learning.  Please feel free to reach out to either of us, our counselors, or your child’s teacher with any questions or needs.  Mustangs take care of Mustangs!!

Sincerely,

Shannon Morris, Principal
