STUDY CONNECTION - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado partners with Durango 9-R School District to provide a School-Based Mentoring Program for students. Study Connection matches children with mentors to improve the student’s academic achievement, school attendance and self-esteem. The student meets with their Study Buddy once a week for an hour and work on school work, play games or just talk. FLORIDA MESA ELEMENTARY PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO) - The Florida Mesa PTO is an active part of the Florida Mesa family. Parents and staff members work on various fundraisers and activities throughout the years.
